        MDG End User demo. This video gives a end user's view of the MDG solution. Specifically, it shows the "first step" of the governance process for Rental Car Create. In the first step, user provides a unique Rental ID (as Key Assignment is External) and fills up the subsequent form with the Change Request details and car details. Once completed, the form is submitted. Upon submission, system saves this data and creates a Change Request. In effect, it triggers the workflow process: the Governance process for the master data. The governance process in this case is has two steps. One for data review and enrichment. The second step for approval. This video just aims to show the end result of the end-to-end implementation process: where we are headed with the next 3 hours of eLearning sessions.


        Data Modelling Intro. This video gives a "quick overview" of the Data Modelling steps in MDG. The actual implementation steps for the data model are a big part of this eLearning. Along the way, the fundamental concepts underlying MDG Data Modelling are explained in detail. The concepts include Storage and Usage Types, Entity Type properties such as Key Assignment and Data Element, Relationship Types etc. The inter-dependency between the various settings are explored as well. The concepts are also reviewed based on their effect on generated tables. Finally the runtime data is analyzed in the context of the various settings. 

        Understanding the basic concepts from varying perspectives, creates a sound foundation for further discussions about the out-of-box solutions. The out-of-box solutions have elaborate data model, with more than a hundred entity types, in some cases. They also introduce additional level of complexity such as the use of Editions, Internal Key Assignment, Reuse mode, Hierarchies etc.
